Honda VFR800 with Dymag wheels, Brembo Brakes, Ohlins Forks and Ohlins Shock
Project Details
The Honda VFR came to Superbike in need of some suspension help. We started with sorting out the suspension problems. The Ohlins forks were taken apart and upgraded to Superbike valving and proper springs for the rider. The Ohlins shock was completely rebuilt with new valving, Upgraded piston and a proper rate Ohlins spring.
From there we did a complete brake upgrade to Brembo components. We swapped out the old Ohlins fork brake mounts to the new modular design. With the 100mm Radial brake brackets mounted we machined the wheel hub 4mm on each side to work with the Dymag wheel.
Once the wheel was machined then we installed the Brake tech rotors and spaced out the calipers.
The Brembo Radial Billet clutch and brake master cylinders were installed with custom Spiegler lines and pressure switches. The custom fluid reservoir mounts were made and then powdercoated.
All that seemed easy compaired to the rear brake. The Brembo mounts up perfect for a Ducati single sided swingarm but the Honda bracket is bigger all around. The Honda bracket was cut down and a Ohlins brake bracket was cut up and machined so it could be welded to the original bracket. All in all it came out perfect
